We are pleased to announce that Johnson Grain, LLC and Scoular Company of Omaha, Nebraska, have reached an agreement in principle to form a new venture to expand grain handling and grain assets in Central Illinois.
After the initial transaction has been closed, the two companies by working together will pursue expansion opportunities. Although terms of the transaction have not been completed, we expect it will be closed in February.
Johnson Grain has enjoyed a close business relationship with Scoular for many years and are pleased to unite regional operations. No changes in management, employees, or marketing programs are anticipated. Jay Johnson, President of Johnson Grain, will be the General Manager of the new venture.
This collective effort with Scoular will allow Johnson Grain to better serve its loyal customers and dedicated employees.
Johnson Grain has been working towards grain operation opportunities to bring expanded service, more markets, and better grain value to its local producers and local economy.
